Wes and Nancy Collins are members of Wycliffe. They worked in Guatemala for 19 years as Bible translators among the Mam. They were also involved in medical work, the development of written literature, the promotion of literacy, and the development of a number of small businesses. They also raised three children--all born in Guatemala. TEFC has been involved in this Guatemalan ministry for over fifteen years. Many of our members have visited the Mam village where the Collins family worked, and Pastor Dave was present at the dedication of the Central Mam New Testament in 1999.
In 2006 (after a doctoral stint at Ohio State) Wes and Nancy moved to Lima, Peru, where Wes now directs and teaches in a joint Wycliffe-Ricardo Palma University program aimed at helping train native Spanish speakers in the linguistic and anthropological skills needed for cross-cultural ministry. Their students come from throughout Latin America and are headed into ministries around the world. As director, Wes is busy enlisting faculty, screening students, finances, and teaching.
Nancy runs the program's finances, is the program nurse and runs the library.
Wes and Nancy are both Ohio State grads, and proud to be so.
